On July 15, a young boy from Lafayette was killed in an accident in Foley, Alabama.
According to authorities, 11 year old Cameron Michael Bailey was riding in the back seat of a Honda SUV behind the driver on the Foley Beach Express. They were on their way home from a vacation in Orange Beach, Alabama and Bailey was with a friend of the family. A red pickup truck hit them head on and Bailey was killed with another five people being injured and taken to a local hospital including the driver of the SUV. Foley Police Department said they believe the elderly driver of the truck suffered a medical emergency which caused him to go into the other lane and crash into the oncoming traffic.
Bailey was a student at Our Lady of Fatima School where he would have been entering the sixth grade this coming school year.
